The Organising Committee is a group of researchers who are keen to promote the use of qualitative methods in HRI research.

Katie Riddoch, PhD Researcher

University of Glasgow, United Kingdom

Funded by an ESRC Industrial Strategy Studentship, Katie uses methods from Experimental Psychology to explore attachment to social robots. Katie is based in the Social Brain in Action Laboratory, but enjoys collaborating with industry partners and academics from other disciplines. Katie is lead of the Organising Committee, and founder of the "Qualitative Methods in HRI/HCI" Teams network.

Frederic Robinson, PhD Researcher

University of New South Wales, Australia

Frederic is an audio designer, musician, and researcher combining creative and technical expertise to create extraordinary immersive audio experiences. Currently a Scientia PhD Candidate at the UNSW Creative Robotics Lab & Interactive Media Lab in Sydney, he develops interactive audio systems for robotic agents to enrich the way they interact with humans.

Katie Winkle, Postdoctoral Researcher

KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden

Following completion of her PhD at the Bristol Robotics Laboratory (UK) Katie Winkle is a Digital Futures Postdoctoral Fellow at KTH, Stockholm. Her research is focussed on socially assitive robotics; specifically targeting real world robot deployment and exploring methodologies for leveraging human expertise in the design and automation of social robots.

Hannah Pelikan, PhD Researcher

Linköping University, Sweden

Hannah brings a conversation analytic perspective to human-robot interaction and has carried out field studies in settings such as family homes, public roads and surgical operating rooms. She currently pursues her PhD at Linköping University in Sweden. Funded by a Swedish Research Council project on human practices for embodied coordination, Hannah explores sound as a resource for achieving real-time coordination between humans and robots.
